Making Meaning

Created for studio class at Parsons, this work explores the malleability of language and the ease of rewriting and recreating meaning from existing text. Using a black marker I obscured most of the text, leaving behind words that formed a poetic sentence. The process was mostly random, the sentences formed themselves. I added images from another lost book on the art of Japanese theatre to bring the newly formed sentences to life.
